After taking home the Grand Prix at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival and gathering buzz on the film festival circuit, A24's The Zone of Interest has its first trailer.

Directed by Jonathan Glazer and based on the novel by Martin Amis, the film is a Holocaust-set drama that pointedly keeps the atrocities of the Holocaust off-camera, but notably not unheard. We meet Auschwitz commandant Rudolf Höss (Christian Friedel), his wife Hedwig (Sandra Hüller), and their young children. They live in the shadow of the concentration camp, just about sharing a wall with it, but rarely acknowledge its evils — if they even recognize their work as evil, that is. Instead, they strive to make a perfect life in their home, enjoying their comforts and watching their children play, all while being complicit in one of the worst genocides in history.

The Zone of Interest is coming soon to theaters.
