Ridley Scott's 'Napoleon' trailer teases Joaquin Phoenix waging war

You probably associate him with school text books, but Napoleon — the famous French military commander of the late 18th and early 19th centuries, who made his name during the Revolutionary Wars — is about to get a Game of Thrones-style moment on the big screen.

The trailer above for Ridley Scott's Napoleon features Joaquin Phoenix in the titular role, charging down and chopping his way through enemies while charming various women and coming out with quippy lines like, ""I'm the first to admit when I make a mistake. I simply never do."

Napoleon also stars Vanessa Kirby as Empress Josephine, Theresa Cabarrus as Ludivine Sagnier, and Catherine Walker as Marie Antoinette.

Napoleon hits cinemas on June 22.
