The SAG-AFTRA strike is already causing waves in the entertainment industry, with major productions shutting down on the very first day of the strike. They join several other projects that halted production due to the WGA strike, including Stranger Things Season 5, Yellowjackets Season 3, and Abbott Elementary Season 3.

Marvel's Deadpool 3 was the first film to stop production, with other tentpoles like Venom 3 following close behind. Apple's hugely popular sci-fi drama Silo is on indefinite hiatus mid-Season 2 production. Notably, productions such as House of the Dragon Season 2 and Industry Season 3 are able to continue filming, as UK-based actors are a part of the Equity labor union and legally cannot strike in solidarity with SAG-AFTRA.

From superhero sequels to blockbuster musicals, here is a list of the major movies and TV shows that have ceased production as studio and streaming bosses resist workers' fight for better pay and conditions.

What movies and TV shows have halted production due to the SAG-AFTRA strike?

  • Lilo & Stitch
